Sunfab at Elmia Wood 2017
6/20/2017
Elmia Wood is the world's largest international forestry exhibition, both in terms of area and the number of exhibitors. Sunfab attended and showed its main products for forestry at the exhibition which is completely located within the forest.
Every fourth year the forestry sector meets in the Swedish forest south of Jönköping. This year the exhibition ran between 7 th and 10th of June and with over 550 exhibitors and almost 42,000 unique visitors from all over the world, Elmia Wood is the world's largest international forestry exhibition. Sunfab exhibited, among other things, its high performance pumps for forestry trucks, SCPD 76/76 and SVH 130 as well as the Cartridge motor SCM M2.
Great interest in end-user applications
During this year's exhibition, Sunfab received many international visitors from all over the world.
– Interest was high for the saw unit from JPS Technology utilising our SCM M2 Cartridge motor which we showed on our stand, says Per Sundin Sales Manager of Sunfab. With the new R5500 saw unit, JPS have turned traditional concepts on their head and by re-evaluating the design, JPS have improved former technologies in several ways. Instead of operating the saw motor at its maximum limits, which leads to reduced efficiency and high heat generation, JPS have lowered the RPM’s to half and increased the torque. Sunfab has developed the SCM M2 motor together with JPS for optimal function in the JPS R5500.
– It's great to see a lot of interest for the applications where our products are installed, said Per Sundin. This year's exhibition also showed a chain mulcher from Ilsbo Tools, a barrier mulcher from Hinnagårds and a stump grinder from Danish FSI Power-Tech at the Sunfab stand.
Many visitors despite the weather
The weather was not the best at this year's trade exhibition, when the show started on Wednesday there was heavy rain fall but despite this there was still a steady stream of visitors into the exhibition.
– The positive for Sunfab with Elmia Wood is that we are able to meet many of our end customers and it allows us a better picture of the applications where our products are included, says Per Sundin. We had many interesting visitors to our booth giving us both good contacts and also suggestions on how we can work to increase our sales in the forestry sector.
– In summary, this was absolutely one of our best forestry exhibitions ever for us, despite the weather, a pleased Per Sundin concludes.
