Elmia Lastbil has successfully consolidated its position as the leading meeting place for the transport and haulage industry in Sweden and the Nordics. During the exhibitions four days, the focus was on transition, sustainability and competence provision.

This year's exhibition was the 21st in a row as the largest truck exhibition in the Nordics and was arranged in Jönköping, Sweden on the 21–24 August. The exhibition attracted over 31,000 visitors where Sunfab participated among over 370 exhibitors.

The largest truck manufacturers, together with Lastfordonsgruppen (Swedish Trucking Group), emphasised the importance of sustainability measures and set the goal of achieving 100% fossil-free operation by 2040 to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. Consensus on sustainability goals has been clear among industry representatives, politicians and manufacturers, which was discussed during the first day of the exhibition.

To increase the industry's attractiveness among young people and secure future competence, approximately 3,000 high school and vocational students were invited to the exhibition, where they had the opportunity to meet professionals in the industry. This investment in training and recruitment is central to securing an efficient and sustainable future for the transport sector.

“For us, the exhibition is extremely important and a great meeting place. Not only for ourselves but also for our distributors and end customers. The response was very positive”, says Hans Fredlund, Sales Manager at Sunfab.

At Elmia Lastbil, several premieres were presented for both the Swedish and international markets. Among other things, electric trucks from Volvo and Mercedes-Benz. Scania was also in the spotlight with its world premiere of an all-electric timber truck equipped with a crane, designed to handle forest transport up to 72 tonnes.

Sunfab is developing towards electrification
At this year's exhibition, we showed, among other things, our ePTO concept (Sunfab ePower) as part of developing solutions for electric operation for Sunfab's range of hydraulic pumps and motors.

“We have seen an increased demand for hydraulic pumps with a lower noise level, especially in buildings with electric operation. That's why we already launched a complete series of our SAP Optimised hydraulic pump at Elmia Lastbil 2022. It is specially developed for electric motor operation with higher speed characteristics and lower noise levels.”

“This is the first step in our development of products towards electrification where we also work actively to develop new products and solutions that are adapted to the requirements and technology of the future”, says Johan Sundin, Product Manager at Sunfab.
